ECIRPD to Present at National Brownfield Conference in Chicago
The East Central Indiana Regional Planning District (ECIRPD) is honored to announce that we have been invited to participate in the National Brownfield Conference, taking place in Chicago from August 4th to 8th, 2025. This prestigious event, organized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and ICMA, brings together leaders, experts, and stakeholders from across the country to discuss and advance brownfield redevelopment efforts.
ECIRPD will be part of a seminar highlighting our successful implementation of a $500,000 EPA Brownfield Grant in Delaware County. This funding has been instrumental in identifying and cleaning up brownfields in the Whitely, Industry, and McKinley neighborhoods. The grant has provided crucial resources for assessing contamination, engaging the community, and paving the way for future redevelopment opportunities.
Our participation in this national conference underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in revitalizing underutilized properties and transforming them into assets for economic and community growth. By sharing our experiences and best practices, ECIRPD aims to inspire and guide other communities pursuing brownfield redevelopment.
Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare for this exciting opportunity to showcase our region’s progress on a national stage!
