Employee Spotlight: Anna King-Cross

Meet Anna King-Cross, our talented new grant writer at the East Central Indiana Regional Planning District! With a passion for public service and a knack for navigating the complexities of non-profit work, Anna brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to our team.

Anna grew up with two brothers—one older and a twin—and has always been a dedicated and active student. She graduated from Delta High School, which led her to Ivy Tech, earning her associate’s degree. She then transferred to Ball State University receiving her Bachelor’s and now pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration. With a year and a half left in her graduate program, Anna is tackling her first semester of master’s coursework, balancing her studies and responsibilities as a Graduate Assistant at Ball State. She’s involved in several organizations, including the College Board for Peace and Conflict and the Graduate Student Association, where she enjoys connecting with fellow students and building a strong network.

As a grant writer, Anna plays a pivotal role in securing funds that help our organization continue making a positive impact in the communities we serve. She loves the challenges and rewards of working in the non-profit sector, particularly the “legal talk” involved—a facet of the role that keeps her engaged and motivated. Anna has a particular interest in the legal nuances of non-profit work, feeling that it aligns closely with her interests and skills. She finds fulfillment in the intricate process of grant writing, viewing it as both a creative and strategic endeavor.
