Spotlight on Filtrec North America: A Boost for East Central Indiana
Filtrec North America, a leading company in advanced machinery filtration, has made a significant impact on East Central Indiana since its $1.3 million investment in Daleville, Indiana, announced in October 2018. Headquartered in Bergamo, Italy, Filtrec chose to establish its first and only U.S. operation in Daleville following a successful two-day visit to the area in 2017.
Initially, Filtrec began by storing filters in Daleville, a strategic decision aimed at optimizing distribution to their midwestern customer base. Bill Walters, Executive Director of the East Central Indiana Regional Planning District, played a crucial role in facilitating this transition. Walters and other Delaware County Economic Development Team leaders met with Filtrec executives, including Director of Operations Mauro Milani, in Italy and worked closely with them to manage the complexities of the international move and establish a strong presence in Delaware County.
Today, Filtrec operates from a 25,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility located in Muncie. Over the past six years, the company has developed a substantial customer base of 70 companies across the United States and achieved $3 million in revenue last year. Their industrial and hydraulic filters serve critical sectors such as manufacturing, excavating, cranes, mining, and agriculture.
With 10 local employees, Filtrec plays an important role in the community and is forecasting the addition of two more staff members by October 2024. The company’s location in the Midwest offers a strategic advantage, ensuring efficient distribution to its customer network.
Globally, Filtrec operates 10 branches, with Italy serving as the central hub for their international operations. Despite facing a competitive market, Filtrec’s U.S. headquarters in East Central Indiana has distinguished itself through a commitment to innovation and local economic growth.
Filtrec’s investment in East Central Indiana highlights the successful integration of international expertise with local development, marking a positive milestone in the region’s economic progress.
