WESCO To Move Into New Daleville Location

DELAWARE COUNTY, IN — WESCO Distribution reaffirmed its commitment to Delaware County with plans to move its Daleville branch at 13880 W. Commerce Drive to a larger 50,000-square-foot-facility at 9101 S. Innovation Drive later this year. The new facility is being completed as a joint partnership between Briner Buildings and the Delaware County Redevelopment Commission.

Construction on WESCO’s new location has already begun and is targeted for completion in early fall 2018, according to Mike Swinford, owner of Briner Building. His company, Briner Properties, also owns the Shell building.

WESCO has been in business in Delaware County since 1954. The new facility will house a larger variety of overhead, underground residential, substation/switchyard material and equipment to better service WESCO’s statewide utility-based customers.

“Our county’s economic development focus for the last three years has been to assist those companies that already call Delaware County home,” said Commissioner Shannon Henry. “The current Commissioners are committed to assisting local companies with growth and expansion in any way we can. The WESCO project is a prime example of that.”
WESCO expects to expand its offerings in the region to include more fiber and broadband products and employ as many as 30 people within the next five years, according to Jim Cameron, Vice President and General Manager of WESCO Utility Group.

“Assisting an existing stable company like WESCO with their growth and expansion in the Town of Daleville is a win-win for the community. It took a little time to find the right tenant for the building, but I couldn’t be happier knowing that the new occupant will be a company with such a strong history and commitment to our county such as WESCO,” said Bill Walters, Daleville Town Board President.

Being strategically located on Interstate I-69 near State Road 67 and 32, the Daleville location gives WESCO access to distribute products to its customers in a variety of Indiana locations.

“Daleville and Delaware County have always been attractive for us. We worked with Brad Bookout, the County’s Economic Development Director, to overcome several obstacles that ultimately moved this project forward,” said Curt Starr, broker for WESCO.

WESCO joins other large employers in the area, such as Concentrix, First Merchants Bank, Boyce Systems, Bolt Trucking and Element Materials Technology.

“Getting the Daleville shell building on the tax rolls and working to expand the presence of a large corporate partner like WESCO in Delaware County is a good thing. All three County Commissioners are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with the WESCO representatives,” said County Commissioner President, James King.
