Delaware County Homeowners: Help Bring Home Rehabilitation Funding to Our Community

Delaware County is exploring an opportunity to apply for a $500,000 grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) to help eligible homeowners make needed improvements to their homes.

The proposed Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Program could provide up to $25,000 per eligible household for qualifying home improvements, including:

  • Roof and gutter repairs
  • Interior and exterior ADA accessibility improvements
  • Heating and cooling system replacement
  • Electrical upgrades
  • Water heater replacement

Who May Be Eligible?

The proposed program would be available to eligible homeowners in Delaware County, with an important geographic restriction: properties located within the City of Muncie are not eligible because Muncie falls within OCRA’s entitlement area.

Additional eligibility requirements would include:

  • You must live in Delaware County.
  • You must own the home.
  • The program is income-based.

Help Us Gauge Community Interest

Delaware County is pursuing this grant opportunity and needs to demonstrate community interest as part of the application process.

At least 15 completed interest forms are needed for the county to be eligible to apply.

Please note: Completing the interest form does not guarantee funding or participation in the program. The county is currently using the forms to gauge community interest and meet the requirements to pursue the OCRA grant.
