Regional Impact Summary

Over the past several years, ECIRPD has also successfully secured $4,148,153.88 in regional funding that supports initiatives benefiting multiple communities across Blackford, Delaware, Grant, and Jay counties rather than a single project or jurisdiction. These funds have supported critical planning and infrastructure programs including Community Crossings Matching Grants (CCMG), the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program, development of the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), and the creation of regional Economic Resiliency Plans designed to strengthen long-term economic stability. By pursuing and administering these regional initiatives, ECIRPD helps ensure that local governments can collaborate on shared priorities such as transportation safety, infrastructure improvement, economic growth, and disaster preparedness, maximizing the impact of funding across the entire region rather than in isolated projects.
