ECIRPD Attends Liberty-Perry All-Inclusive Playground Ribbon Cutting

The Liberty-Perry School Corporation celebrated the completion of its new Access 4 All Inclusive Playground with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, August 10th. The new playground will provide students with an inclusive space designed to encourage play, connection, and participation for children of all abilities. With the playground now complete, students will be able to enjoy the new space during the upcoming school year.

The East Central Indiana Regional Planning District (ECIRPD) was proud to support Liberty-Perry throughout the development of the project. Through coordination, partnership-building, and assistance identifying funding opportunities, ECIRPD helped Liberty-Perry connect with resources that could help move the project forward.

One key outcome of these efforts was more than $60,000 in funding secured through the Delaware County Redevelopment Commission (DCRC) to support the playground. This investment, along with contributions from numerous community organizations, businesses, families, and other partners, helped make the project possible.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Liberty-Perry Superintendent Aaron Black welcomed attendees before Director of Special Education Amy Everhart shared the story behind the project. The program also included recognition of donors and partners, a parent introduction from SES Principal Jeremy Neckers, and a parent perspective from Bryttani Mills before the official ribbon-cutting.

The completion of the Access 4 All Inclusive Playground is a great example of what can happen when schools, community organizations, donors, families, and regional partners work together toward a shared goal.

The project was made possible through the collective efforts of many community partners and donors:
