ECIRPD to Attend the 2026 Purdue Road School Transportation Conference and Expo
The ECI Regional Planning District will be attending the Purdue Road School Transportation Conference & Expo on March 16th–18th in West Lafayette, Indiana. This annual conference brings together transportation professionals from across the state to share knowledge, discuss emerging trends, and explore solutions that support safer and more efficient infrastructure.
The Purdue Road School Transportation Conference & Expo has a long history dating back to 1913, when W. K. Hatt, head of Purdue University’s School of Civil Engineering, first organized a Civil Engineering Conference focused on the needs of county surveyors and city engineers, particularly in the areas of roads and streets. By 1915, the conference evolved into what is now known as Purdue Road School and has since grown into one of the largest transportation conferences in the country.
Today, the event hosts thousands of professionals from state and local agencies, industry, and universities. The 2026 conference will feature nearly 200 sessions across 18 technical tracks, offering opportunities to learn about the latest developments in transportation planning, engineering, construction, and policy.
By attending Road School, the ECI Regional Planning District team will gain valuable insights and connect with transportation leaders from across Indiana. The knowledge and ideas gathered during the conference will help support ongoing efforts to improve transportation systems and infrastructure throughout the East Central Indiana region. We look forward to sharing highlights and key takeaways from the conference after the event.
