Celebrating the Impact of Basic Computer Skills Workshops

From March 2024 through July 2025, the ECI Regional Planning District, in partnership with Eastern Indiana Works, offered a series of Basic Computer Skills Workshops designed to help community members strengthen their digital literacy.

Over the course of 23 workshops, participants engaged with 17 computer skill areas through the Northstar Digital Literacy platform. The results speak for themselves:

• 86 certificates awarded

• 148 digital badges claimed

• Hundreds of hours of learning and growth

These workshops became more than just educational sessions—they boosted confidence and empowered individuals to take meaningful steps in their personal and professional lives.

We are proud of the program’s success and grateful to Autumn Marshall, our former American Connection Corps Fellow, for her leadership in organizing and facilitating this important initiative. We also thank Eastern Indiana Works and all the participants who made this program so impactful.

Though the workshops have concluded, their legacy continues to support digital opportunity across East Central Indiana.
