About Jacob

Jacob Thomas grew up in Muncie Indiana, where he developed an early appreciation for community betterment and the importance of strong local leadership. He went on to study Business Economics at Ball State University, where he built a foundation in community development skills related to grant writing, planning, and grant administration.

As a Grant Administrator for the East Central Indiana Regional Planning District (ECIRPD), Jacob plays a key role in supporting local governments, nonprofits, and regional partners. He is passionate about using grant writing and administration as tools to create lasting community improvements, from infrastructure projects and public engagement to housing and youth development initiatives. His decision to pursue grant writing stems from his commitment to connecting resources with real community needs, ensuring that East Central Indiana continues to thrive.

Fun Facts & Interests

When Jacob isn’t working on grant proposals or community projects, he enjoys watching football and playing golf. His favorite part of his role is helping local leaders turn ideas into funded projects that directly benefit the local communities.
